While on the USS Upshur Jack is told story about Merchant Marines trying to use U.S. Navy anti-aircraft guns to shoot down German Luftwaffe planes during World War II. In the story they have a very hard time firing them accurately. If you watch this video you’ll get some small appreciation about just how hard it is to accurately shoot a naval gun.
