Abandon Ship Drill on the USS Upshur

Photo from Alton Hitt These members of 4th Armored Division are being transported to German in the fall of 1957 as part of Operation Gyroscope. They are participating in their abandon ship drill.  You have to love the U.S. Navy's ABANDON SHIP STATION rather than the conventional life boat drill.
