At German American Week, Jack and the brats meet a number of local German officials in the big white tent. The most important of which was the Mayor of Göppingen.

I’m pretty sure the man in the tweed coat, left side 2nd from the front, is Max, our beloved high school bus driver who tolerated us unruly brats from Cooke Barracks all the way to SAHS in Ludwigsburg each day. He told us he had spent time in a POW camp in the states during WWII. He never threatened us with the motor pool. He was a wonderful person and I choked up seeing this photo.
